Resolved Question: connecting to Xbox live with a Ethernet Cable?

I want to connect my xbox 360 to xbox live. I have a virgin media cable modern like this: http://www.thestudentbar.co.uk/images/modem_front_close.jpg which is broadband and not wireless My xbox 360 is downstairs and my computer and modern are upstairs so I am gonna use a really long Ethernet Cable and connect one end to the modern and one end to the xbox 360.
